Antique Georgian Solid Oak Writing Bureau. Beautiful piece, with fitted interior pigeonholes, drawers & two hidden secret wooden pillar compartments. Enclosed by a fall front above four long graduated drawers on bracket feet, a lovely chest of drawers with added benefit of pull-down lid easily turned into a desk with lots of storage for stationery and garments.
The frame is English oak which has aged wonderfully, and the drawers and carcass painted in a light green. Condition wise, there is age and use related patina marks, signs of use, some historic repairs, and general wear to the drawers and pigeonholes as you would expect, all of which adds to the charismatic look and feel, the handles are brand new hand painted knobs recently added.
